Louis (Louie) Oswald Jr. passed away on Jan. 28, 2026. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Feb. 26, 1941, to parents Louis Sr. & Mary Lou (Hart) Oswald.

Louis is predeceased by his parents, by his former wife, Diane, by his second wife, Katherine, sister, Rose Mary Grimes Pultz, brother-in-laws, Robert Grimes and Tony Pultz. Louis is survived by his two sons, Fred (Beth) and Carl (Janette) and sister, Carolyn Oswald.

Louie went to grade school in Little Rock and Pine Bluff then later graduated from Batesville High School. Louie then went to Christian Brothers College in Memphis, Tennessee, where he got his BSEE and was Cum Laude. He then went to Notre Dame Graduate School where he got his MSEE (Electrical Engineering) Degree. His first job was at Boeing in Seattle, Washington.

Louie married twice and had two sons, Fred and Carl, with his first wife. Louie lived in California for five years and then moved to Arlington, Texas where he married his second wife, Katherine. Upon retirement as a contract electrical engineer in 2007, Louie moved to Hot Springs to be closer to his sisters. He traveled to the Holy Land in 2011, where he walked where Jesus walked. He visited where Jesus was born, the Temple where Jesus preached and saw Calvary where Jesus died. He also got to ride on a camel while he was there. Louis loved to read and has every Louis L'Amour book and has read each one a dozen times.

A Rosary will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, to be held at St. John the Baptist Church.

The visitation will be from 9:30 - 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial to follow.
