Bob V. Compton, age 88, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on March 14, 2026. Bob was born, on May 12, 1937, in Nashville, Arkansas, to Coye and Duffy Compton.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, and after his service, he earned a master's degree in education. Bob devoted his career to guiding and encouraging students as a counselor at Mountain Pine School, leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives.

On Aug. 23, 1965, Bob married the love of his life, Margaret Duren. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather who always made time to teach his grandkids US History facts, the names of Presidents and how to count money.

Bob enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. He loved playing golf and bowling, and he was an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks. Those who knew him will remember his steady faith, kind heart, and generous spirit.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Coye and Duffy Compton, his brothers, Charles and Tom, and his sister, Jeanne.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Compton; his children, Pam (Robert), Brian (Leigh), and Todd (Amber); his seven grandchildren, Samantha (Dalton), Zach, Jeff, Alex, Ava, Aimsley, and Asa, with one great grandchild on the way; his twin sister Betty Wood, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob's life was a testament to faith, love, and devotion to his family. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope of being reunited with him again.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, March 19, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Bob's life will be on at 10 a.m., Friday, March 20, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
